The purchase of a $1.2 million mobile command center for police and fire use is among the items on the Eden Prairie City Council’s agenda for its regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The city would use $963,000 in federal grant money to help purchase the vehicle, replacing another that has been used for the last 23 years, according to a memo by Police Chief Matt Sackett. The remainder of the cost would be funded through the city’s capital improvements program. The command center would be custom-built and delivered in spring 2026.
Its purchase is one of the items on the city council’s “consent calendar,” which is a long list of items approved in a single vote.
Tuesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Rd.
