In response to unusually warm weather, Eden Prairie’s Parks and Recreation Department has creatively reimagined its annual Winter Blast event as the “Warm Weather Edition,” set to occur on Saturday, Feb. 3.
This adaptation ensures the winter celebration continues, albeit with adjustments to the traditional lineup of activities due to the lack of snow and ice.
Festivities at the Eden Prairie Outdoor Center, 13765 Staring Lake Parkway, run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering nature hikes, animal interactions, walks around Staring Lake, and warm up with some free hot chocolate (while supplies last) by a bonfire.
The celebration continues from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Eden Prairie Art Center, 7650 Equitable Drive. Participants will create winter-themed art projects under the guidance of Art Center instructors. Warm treats will also be provided while supplies last.
Additionally, the city invites the community to take advantage of the day by exploring Eden Prairie’s park system. With 52 parks, residents and visitors have ample opportunities for self-guided hikes that embrace the beauty of winter, even in warmer weather.
