The Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools (FEPS) recently announced that it had awarded $9,000 in Community Partnership Grants to organizations serving Eden Prairie students. These grants will be used to implement programs throughout the 2023-24 school year.
Eden Prairie Noon Rotary received $4,000 for the My Book Day program, while MoveFwd received $5,000 for youth counseling.
The My Book Day program provides over 700 Eden Prairie first graders with a hardcover book of their choice. The books are presented during an event held for the first graders at Eden Prairie High School to promote the importance of reading.
Among its services, MoveFwd provides no-cost, barrier-free youth mental health services to students age 12-21, including those enrolled in the Eden Prairie School District.
MoveFwd provides youth mental health services for students in Eden Prairie Schools through master’s level therapists. These services are embedded in Eden Prairie High School and within the TASSEL transition program for special education students.
According to FEPS, “Due to an increasing waiting list for services to students in Eden Prairie, this community grant will help MoveFwd to expand its services this year to keep Eden Prairie students healthy, stable, ready to learn, and able to fulfill their potential.”
