Mike Grant, son of the late Bud Grant, the former Minnesota Vikings coach, and Chad Hartman, son of the late Minnesota sportswriter Sid Hartman, will share stories of their fathers’ 75-year friendship as the speakers at this year’s Eden Prairie Lions’ wild game dinner.
The 52nd annual dinner will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at a new location, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Drive.
At the original dinner in 1973, Eden Prairie Lions Club members served locally hunted duck and pheasant. This year, chef Ron Rodenwald will prepare venison, moose, bear, elk and pheasant, along with smoked salmon, other items and dessert.
The evening will also feature a silent auction, with 100% of the proceeds donated to charities supporting the sheltering and adoption of animals.
Speaker Mike Grant is the Eden Prairie High School football coach, who recently celebrated his 400th career win. Chad Hartman is a talk show host on WCCO Radio. The two will share photos and stories of their famous dads.
The Eden Prairie Lions ask that reservations for the wild game dinner be made by Dec. 10. Tickets are priced at $35. Contact Mike Gruidl at 612-644-2323 or mikegruidl@comcast.net, or Steve Wilson at 612-805-0762 or steve@learning-opp.com to purchase tickets.
