A Minneapolis man is facing felony theft and other charges after police say he stole more than $2,600 in merchandise from the Eden Prairie Home Depot and then fled officers.
Jaime Patricio Condo-Congacha, 31, is charged in Hennepin County District Court with felony theft and two misdemeanor counts of fleeing police and giving a false name.
According to the complaint, store security on Feb. 13 reported two men concealing merchandise in backpacks. Condo-Congacha allegedly used a ladder to access locked tools, passed them to an accomplice, and fled when approached. Police said he gave a false name before being arrested.
The stolen merchandise included power tool batteries and laser levels, valued at $2,601, police said.
Condo-Congacha also faces a felony theft charge in Ramsey County for a similar incident at a Maplewood Home Depot in February, court records show. He has active warrants in both cases.
