
Eden Prairie fell 2-1 to Shakopee on Saturday night at Shakopee West Middle School Stadium, the Eagles’ second straight one-goal loss to open the season.
Sophomore attacker Julia Ziesel gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead with 26:19 remaining in the first half. Shakopee answered just over a minute later to tie the game, then went ahead 2-1 with 18:06 left before halftime.
The Eagles generated a strong offensive attack in the second half but were unable to tie the game.
Eden Prairie also lost 2-1 in its season opener Thursday at Champlin Park, which scored the deciding goal with 2:53 left in regulation.
The Eagles (0-2-0) return home Tuesday to face Minnetonka (2-0-0) at 5 p.m. at Aerie Stadium.
