This is in response to a recent letter by Kay Strand about housing being a human right.
Our rights as U.S. citizens are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Everything else that the state and federal government provide is funded through taxpayers’ pockets. Some people seem to think those “rights” should also include food, clothing, shelter and anything else we can imagine. The taxpayers’ pocketbooks are not a bottomless pit, as some politicians seem to think. Are there limits? Let’s think about that.
