Editor’s note: This letter responds to EPLN’s Nov. 22 story, “Sale of fluorescent lightbulbs will be banned in Minnesota on Jan. 1,” regarding the state’s phaseout of fluorescent bulbs.
I don’t know who to put this to. I know this whole thing wasn’t your decision. However, I just think it’s so screwed up. Like, it is actually a bad idea. Just think about it. People who are very sensitive to bright lights will have to either wander in darkness with a flashlight or wear sunglasses 24/7 when the lights are on. Yeah, LED lighting saves more money, but with LED light fixtures, you can’t change a lightbulb. You have to buy a whole new fixture, which costs more money than buying a lightbulb.
We are the country with the LOWEST pollution in the world. No other country has tried to do anything to lower the amount of pollution they dish out.
