A Shakopee woman was killed Saturday night after she drove the wrong way on Highway 169 at Anderson Lakes Parkway in Bloomington, striking another vehicle head-on, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash happened about 9:52 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 169 in Bloomington, near the Eden Prairie border. The State Patrol said a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it hit a northbound 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The impact pushed the Hyundai into a 2023 Ford F-150.
The Pontiac’s driver, Jasmine Jayde Nanclares, 29, of Shakopee, died at the scene. The State Patrol said it was unknown whether she was wearing a seat belt. Alcohol involvement remains under investigation.
The Hyundai’s driver, Nasteho Rashid Dagane, 25, also of Shakopee, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). He was wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.
The Ford’s driver, Jonathan Giovanni Juarez Roman, 18, of Richfield, and passenger Giselle Pimentel Jimenez, 18, of Brooklyn Center, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
The Bloomington Police Department, along with Eden Prairie police and Allina Ambulance, assisted at the scene, according to the State Patrol.
