Lava Island, a new indoor playground and family entertainment business, will open Friday at 12400 Castlemoor Drive in Eden Prairie, offering VIP early access before its public debut.
Email subscribers can enter from noon to 5 p.m. for VIP access, with general admission from 5 to 10 p.m., according to the company. Regular business hours will begin on Saturday.
Visitors can sign up for VIP access on Lava Island’s website.
The playground will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, the email stated.
Lava Island offers screen-free play for children and families and can be booked for birthday parties, according to its website. It features a trampoline park, slides, a foam pit and other indoor activities for children to enjoy.
It also has a food court serving sweet treats and meals such as pizza, according to its website. Families can purchase one-hour or day passes and take advantage of a loyalty program for frequent visitors.
The city issued $2.6 million in building permits for the project in April. Lava Island’s building was once rumored to be intended for an Amazon Fresh grocery store.
