The Eden Prairie Lions Club Foundation has donated $5,000 to the Minnesota Lions Childhood Cancer Foundation (MLCCF) to support children and families affected by childhood cancer across the state, according to a joint news release from the organizations.
The check was presented during the Eden Prairie Lions Club meeting on Monday evening to Gary Stevens, chair of the MLCCF. Stevens accepted the donation on behalf of the foundation and expressed gratitude for the Eden Prairie Lions Club Foundation’s commitment to serving children and families facing childhood cancer.
“This generous donation represents the shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of children facing unimaginable challenges,” Stevens said in the release. “We are deeply grateful to the Eden Prairie Lions Club Foundation for their partnership and support.”
According to the release, the funds will support MLCCF’s mission to provide financial assistance, emotional support and research funding to improve outcomes and quality of life for children battling cancer in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Lions Childhood Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization supported by Lions Clubs across Minnesota. Its mission is to support children and families affected by childhood cancer through research funding, family support and community awareness.
The Eden Prairie Lions Club Foundation supports local and statewide charitable initiatives that align with the Lions’ mission of service, including vision, hearing, diabetes, environment and childhood cancer causes.
