Princess Jean Allen Myers died peacefully Oct. 31, 2025, at age 91 at Amira Choice in Bloomington.

Born Feb. 24, 1934, in Hope, Arkansas, she was the 12th child of Alma Beatrice Smith Allen and James Gordon “Bud” Allen.
Princess Jean earned a nursing degree from Arkansas Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. While there, she met and married Warren Myers, the love of her life, and together they moved to Fargo, North Dakota; Plattsburgh, New York; Albany, Georgia; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before settling in Eden Prairie in 1966, where she raised their two children, Lisa and Jim. But family life was not all that was ahead for Jean.
With a dear friend, she opened the first day care center and nursery school in Eden Prairie, ABC Day Nursery, which she ran for 25 years. She then opened an upscale women’s clothing store, Rae Jean, in Eden Prairie Center, hosting fashion shows and dressing many Eden Prairie friends in style.
Widowhood at a young age was a huge blow, but not for long. She picked up the pieces and kept on volunteering, holding leadership roles in the Eden Prairie Lioness Club, the Eden Prairie Optimist Club (if you bought a Christmas tree at their lot, you probably met her in her big down coat), the Eden Prairie Foundation, and overseeing hospitality at Eden Prairie United Methodist Church for 30 years.
Her favorite role was “Granny Nanny,” taking care of her three grandchildren — Heather, Justine and Eric — in their preschool years and beyond. She was also the go-to dog-sitter for numerous friends, family and neighbors at “Jean’s Dump-a-Dawg.” And there was always time for travel adventures and mischief around the world with her best buddy, Willie Emry; Lioness friends; and her daughter, Lisa. She loved to garden and created the Eden Prairie Garden Tour to honor beautiful gardens across the city.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren Lee Myers; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Jean is survived by her children, Lisa Myers and Jim Myers (Theresa “Terri”); grandchildren, Heather Myers, Justine Myers and Eric Myers; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at Eden Prairie United Methodist Church, 15050 Scenic Heights Road, Eden Prairie, followed by a service at 11 a.m. and lunch immediately afterward.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, or the organization of your choice in lieu of flowers.
