Veridian Credit Union is seeking public input to award $50,000 in donations for Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2.
The public is invited to nominate their favorite nonprofit for a chance to be one of five recipient organizations through Nov. 9. On Nov. 10, Veridian will draw at random from those nominated to award $10,000 to one eligible nonprofit in each of its five market areas — the Twin Cities, Waterloo-Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, Des Moines, and Omaha-Council Bluffs. Recipients will be announced Dec. 2 in celebration of Giving Tuesday.
To be eligible, organizations must address one of Veridian’s five funding priorities: affordable housing, basic human needs, inclusion, employment readiness and financial literacy. To help ensure equal opportunity among large and small nonprofit organizations, each nominated group will receive one entry in the drawing regardless of the number of nominations.
Nominations and additional details are available at veridiancu.org/givingtuesday.
“Veridian was founded on the need to support our communities and the people in them,” said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer. “We celebrate Giving Tuesday because it’s an opportunity for us to encourage and inspire each other to strengthen the communities we share.”
Veridian Credit Union’s Minnesota branch is at 6385 Old Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. The financial institution recently broke ground on an additional location, also in Eden Prairie, at 8280 Flying Cloud Drive.
