EPLN is powered by donations, which in November and December are being matched.
Thank you, Eden Prairie, for helping us tell your stories over the past five years. Eden Prairie Local News (EPLN) is celebrated for its service to its hometown with informative, fact-based articles and event notices every day of the week. Because this is a nonprofit endeavor, your donations are critical to keeping us reporting. Donations are also tax-deductible.
Good news: your donations through Dec. 31 will be matched by local and national funds. Your gift of, say, $50 or $150 unlocks another $50 or $150.
“High-quality journalism like ours depends on reader support; without it, we simply couldn’t exist,” said Mark H. Weber, CEO and publisher of EPLN. “That’s why we’re proud to join the NewsMatch movement, a national initiative aimed at raising millions of dollars for nonprofit newsrooms that serve communities like ours here in Eden Prairie.
“In a time when trusted journalists and media sources are disappearing, we believe the stakes couldn’t be higher to support local, high-quality journalism,” Weber added. “And we’re committed to keeping our stories free for everyone because information should be accessible when it’s needed most.”
Since its launch in 2020, EPLN has published more than 4,500 stories and now has nearly 4,000 email newsletter subscribers. It has earned state and national recognition for its reporting and has advised neighboring communities that have also lost their longtime newspapers.
Your donation makes all of this and more possible.
If you recently donated, thank you! If you haven’t given — ever, or in a while — you can donate online or mail a check to Eden Prairie Local News, P.O. Box 44242, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. (EPLN will also participate in Minnesota’s Give to the Max Day on Nov. 20.)
“Thank you for believing in the power of journalism to strengthen the community we love,” Weber said. “With your help, we’ll keep Eden Prairie informed, engaged and connected for years to come.”
