Construction is underway on a new Veridian Credit Union branch at 8280 Flying Cloud Drive in Eden Prairie, replacing a long-vacant former car wash.
Demolition of the existing structure began Oct. 21, and the Waterloo, Iowa-based credit union expects to open the new 2,890-square-foot branch in fall 2026. The facility will include a drive-up and 24-hour ATM.
“We’ve enjoyed getting to know the Eden Prairie community over the last couple of years,” said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer in a statement. “We’re grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received, and we’re excited to be growing our presence and commitment to new and existing members there.”
Veridian opened its first Minnesota location in 2023, operating from an office inside the business center at 6385 Old Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. The branch will relocate to the new Flying Cloud Drive site when construction is complete, while the existing office will remain for non-member-facing staff.
According to the company, three current employees will move to the new branch, and four new positions will be added.
City officials, Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce leaders, Veridian staff, and community members took part in a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 14 to mark the start of construction.
Founded in 1934, Veridian Credit Union operates 32 branches across Iowa, eastern Nebraska, and the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The financial cooperative employs more than 1,000 people and offers business and consumer financial services to its member-owners.
