Star Legacy Foundation’s Minnesota Chapter will host a fundraising walk Saturday, Oct. 4, at Staring Lake Park, 14800 Staring Lake Trail, Eden Prairie.
The annual event is meant to raise awareness of pregnancy loss, neonatal death and stillbirth and to offer a chance for families and supporters to connect, heal and take action.
“Steps for Our Stars is more than a walk – it’s a moment for our community to remember those we’ve lost, support each other, and work together toward preventing future loss. Every step, every story shared, helps us move forward in hope,” said Lindsey Wimmer, executive director of Star Legacy Foundation.
The day’s events will begin at 9 a.m., with opening announcements at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reading of baby names, a kids fun run (“Diaper Dash”) and a scenic two-mile walk around the lake. Other highlights include a raffle of prizes, food trucks, face painting and the opportunity to share memories in community.
In addition, participants may purchase custom 18-by-24-inch awareness yard signs to memorialize loved ones. These signs will line the event route on the day of the walk and may also be taken home after the event. Orders received late will still be printed but may arrive after the walk.
All proceeds from Steps for Our Stars benefit Star Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit working to prevent pregnancy loss and neonatal death, improve clinical care, support research and provide grief care programs for families.
