The skies cleared just in time for Eden Prairie’s annual Arts in the Park, which filled Purgatory Creek Park with color, music and the smell of food on Saturday, Aug. 16.
The event, delayed two hours because of morning storms, ran from noon to 5 p.m. in hot, humid weather with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Shoppers browsed booths featuring artwork, homemade beauty products, artisan foods and unique clothing while taking in the park’s scenery.
Visitors enjoyed live entertainment, kids’ activities, food vendors and wine and beer tastings.
Later in the afternoon, Eden Prairie Sings! brought young vocalists ages 13 to 20 to the stage. First place went to Sophia Repice, who earned the chance to represent Eden Prairie at a statewide competition. Now in its ninth year, the contest is hosted by the Eden Prairie Optimist Club in partnership with PiM Arts High School.
