Motorists and pedestrians should expect delays Wednesday, June 4, as crews complete additional trail work along Highway 101 between Eden Prairie and Chanhassen.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction near Purgatory Creek and Twilight Trail. The adjacent pedestrian pathway will also be closed during that time, according to project officials.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check 511mn.org for updates. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

The temporary closures are part of a larger project that began in June 2024 along a stretch of Highway 101 between Highway 5 in Chanhassen and County Road 62/Townline Road in Eden Prairie.

Crews are resurfacing the roadway, reconstructing the trail on the west side, installing overhead pedestrian signals at Twilight Trail and Valley View Road, and addressing drainage issues at Purgatory Creek. The project also includes new curb ramps and accessible pedestrian crossings.

Work is expected to be completed this month.
