Emyr Wyn Davies, of McKinney, Texas, died peacefully at age 83 on May 4, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Claudette Davies, and by his parents, Steven and Anne Davies of Dowlais, Wales, United Kingdom. He is survived by his daughter, Bethan Davies of McKinney, Texas; his son, Derrick Davies of Houston, Texas; and his sister, Stephanie Drywood of London, England.
Wyn was born in Caernarfon, Wales, on June 11, 1941. He attended the Royal Masonic School in Watford, England, until 1959. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Wales in Cardiff in 1963; a master’s degree in science from the University of Manchester in 1965; and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Dallas in Dallas, Texas, in 1975.
Wyn began his career as an electrical engineer and worked for Texas Instruments in England before moving to Dallas in 1968. He later transitioned into the financial consulting industry, holding various executive positions and also serving as an adjunct professor of accounting at the Graduate School of Management at the University of Dallas. He and his family eventually relocated to Minnesota, where he lived in Eden Prairie for more than 35 years.
In 1994, Wyn founded C.F. Advisors, LLC, and later established the Twin Cities Small Emerging Growth Companies organization to support local business owners and entrepreneurs. He attended Bible Study Fellowship for more than 12 years, including three years as a discussion leader.
He was a loving husband and father and leaves behind many good friends. He will be remembered for his incredible Welsh accent and kindness to everyone.
A private family graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
