A cast of 19 Eden Prairie High School students, ranging from freshmen to seniors, will perform William Shakespeare’s play “The Comedy of Errors” this week. All performances are open to the public.
The shows will take place in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1. Tickets are available on the GoFan website for $5 for students and senior citizens, and $7 for adults.
Nancy Saunders, the play’s director, said, “We are setting the play in Ephesus (now Turkey) in 1966 – so it’s ‘Swinging 60s’ themed. It’s a night of fun and a bit of slapstick. Two sets of twins intertwine unknowingly in a world inhabited by strange coincidence, women of questionable virtue, and rogue card sharks. Themes of identity in a world in conflict draped in a bit of comic farce brings a little levity and warmth in January.”
