Adults interested in exploring writing poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction are welcome to attend the Creative Writing Sampler to try the craft techniques common to these writing styles. The Adult Book Club continues to meet on the first Monday of each month and is approaching its 10th anniversary of coming together and having great conversations about books.

While you’re waiting for a copy of the new bestseller to arrive, visit our Staff Reviews list on the library website for recommendations of what to read. There is also a list of titles we think kids might like if they’ve read all the “Dog Man” graphic novels.

Many reading recommendations are available for teens, including fiction, mystery, science fiction, audiobooks and more. If you don’t have a library card to place a title on hold, you can apply online and get a card immediately.

Free computers, printing and copying are some of the many resources available in the library. We are looking for a volunteer to help folks navigate using a computer, the Internet, using online resources and applying for jobs. If you know someone who would enjoy this work, send them our way!

The library offers space for displaying community art in the form of an art wall or a display case for three-dimensional art. We love to showcase the creativity of our community. Contact us if you’d like to display your art.
Information about these resources and registering for events can be found on the library website at hclib.org. Check it out, or come visit us at the service desk in the library.
