Eighteen Eden Prairie High School (EPHS) students signed letters of intent to play a sport at the college or university of their choice, on winter National Signing Day.
On Feb. 7 in the EPHS gym, student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) committing to compete in their freshman athletic season at Division I and Division II schools of their choice. Some had already signed during the fall signing day. Joe Perkl, director of student activities at EPHS, said, “Signing Day is always one of the best days of the year for a high school (athletic director). We get to celebrate all the hard work our student athletes have put in to get to this point.”
Perkl said that even though this is his first year as athletic director at EPHS, “I still feel a special connection to this senior class. As I am just learning to fly like an eagle, they are leaving our nest. It’s bittersweet, but also comforting to know that no matter where they go, or what they do, they will always be Eden Prairie Eagles.”
