Eden Prairie police arrested a 36-year-old man Wednesday night for allegedly making terroristic threats to his family members.
Police said the incident started at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, when officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 10000 block of Purdey Road. On arrival, officers learned from the suspect’s parents that they had fled the home after being threatened by their son. The son was thought to be barricaded in the basement.
When the suspect did not come out of the home despite police commands, law enforcement secured the area, including closing Riverview Road between Parker Drive and Landing Road.
After obtaining a search warrant and conducting a thorough examination of the home, officers determined at about 5:45 p.m. that the suspect was not in the house and had fled the area on foot before their arrival.
As officers searched nearby areas, the suspect returned to the home and was arrested.
Due to the ongoing investigation, police say no further details are available at this time.
