The Eden Prairie High School girls basketball team bounced back from a loss to undefeated Maple Grove with a 64-59 victory over Lakeville South on Thursday night.
Trailing by 11 points in the second half, the Eagles mounted a comeback led by junior guard Tori Schlagel and junior guard/forward Ella Hardwick. Schlagel poured in 18 of her game-high 27 points in the second half, while Hardwick contributed 14 of her 20 points during the Eagles’ rally.
“Tori and Ella were outstanding,” head coach Ellen Wiese said. “Ella was 9-for-10 at the free throw line, and Tori, I think she shot 60 percent from the field. I thought Ella did an outstanding job defensively. I never brought Ella out of the game, so just a Herculean effort by her.”
The win improves Eden Prairie’s record to 6-1. They’ll look to build on their momentum when they host Minneapolis Roosevelt at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
