With more than 4,000 tickets already reserved ahead of this weekend’s premieres of the “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” movies at AMC Eden Prairie 18, the theater is extending its hours from Friday, July 21 through Thursday, July 27. This weekend is expected to be the theater’s busiest since before the coronavirus pandemic.
AMC Eden Prairie 18 will begin showing “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” on Thursday, July 20. “Barbie” will screen for the first time at 3 p.m. with a runtime of 1 hour 54 minutes, and “Oppenheimer” will screen for the first time at 5 p.m. with a runtime of 3 hours. Guests should expect approximately 20 minutes of pre-show trailers before each movie starts.
“Barbie” will be shown in standard digital and Prime at AMC, while “Oppenheimer” will be available in standard digital, Prime and IMAX at AMC. Prime and IMAX technologies provide immersive movie experiences, with Prime at AMC offering moviegoers surround sound, reverberating seats and clearer pictures.
The extended hours are as follows:
Friday, July 21: Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Doors close at 12:00 a.m. Last guest leaves by 3:00 a.m.
Saturday, July 22: Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Doors close at 12:00 a.m. Last guest leaves by 3:00 a.m.
Sunday, July 23: Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Doors close at 11:30 p.m. Last guest leaves by 2:30 a.m.
Monday, July 24 through Thursday, July 27: Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Doors close at 11:30 a.m. Last guest leaves by 2:00 a.m.
