Senior pitcher Kari Welter improved her season record to 6-2 with a 14-7 win over Wayzata on May 2. The Eagles began the game with a 10-run first inning. Welter has a season earned run average of 2.96 heading into the last two weeks of the regular season.
Left-fielder Ayana Lombardy went 3-for-3 in the win, with two singles, a double and two RBI. Centerfielder Maya Miller added two hits and an RBI. Overall, the Eagles scattered 11 hits in the game.
The Eagles are 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the Lake Conference. They have home games at Miller Park on May 8 vs. Wayzata (4:30 p.m.), May 12 vs. Buffalo (4:30 p.m.), May 16 vs. Rosemount (7 p.m.) and May 19 vs. Maple Grove (7 p.m.).
Miller Park will be the site of the Section 2AAAA tournament from May 23-June 1.
The Eagles played Edina Wednesday afternoon and travel to Hopkins on Thursday.

Senior catcher Grace Streed slid into home as the Hopkins catcher reached to make the tag.
Senior Lily Isaacson covered home as a Hopkins runner attempted to score. Hopkins won the Lake Conference matchup 10-4.
