EPLN contributor Gretchen Haynes captured photos on Thursday of the flooding on Riverview Road caused by rising water levels from the Minnesota River.
A portion of the road between Hennepin Town Road and Parker Drive closed earlier this week. Detour signs have been posted at Hennepin Town Road and Homeward Hills Road at Pioneer Trail.
The City of Eden Prairie issued a statement earlier this week indicating that the road will remain closed until the water subsides, and inspectors have assessed any damage to the pavement.
Haynes took the photos on Riverview Road at the bottom of the hill near the intersection with Hennepin Town Road and just west of the Old Shakopee Road exit on Highway 169. Purgatory Creek runs under the road at this location, directly north of the Minnesota River.
