Eden Prairie Schools will limit or cancel many afternoon activities and services on Wednesday, Dec. 21, and school will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 22, due to snow and anticipated blizzard conditions.
In an email to families on Wednesday afternoon, EP Schools said, “Due to the winter storm, we are making several changes to our school and activity schedules today, Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, and tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022. In short, activities and athletics will be decided by individual instructors this evening, and in-person schools will be closed tomorrow.”
Today, Wednesday, Dec. 21
EP schools will dismiss as normal Wednesday and after-school activities and athletics will be at the discretion of advisors and coaches. However, activities buses will NOT be running. All other district and school events are canceled.
The following after-school programs are also canceled:
Targeted Services
ECFE classes
EPIC
Family School
Eagle Zone will remain open until 6 p.m. Community Ed classes will be at the discretion of instructors, and facility rentals will continue. (Events and activities hosted by renters will be at the discretion of renters.)
Tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 22
Eden Prairie Schools in-person learning will be closed Thursday. EP Online will continue as usual.
The email said, “Because this is the first weather-related closure of the school year, this will not be an e-learning day for in-person schools. Staff are using this day to prepare e-learning plans for the remainder of the year, and future closings due to weather will mean a transition to e-learning.”

Little Eagles preschool
Eagle Zone before- and after-school program
All before- and after-school activities
All early childhood, adult and youth programs, including EPIC/Targeted Services
Community Education classes
Facility rentals
